Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Jindful ("we", "us") handles your data. Jindful is a wellness coach: it works by reading what you log and what your iPhone already records about your sleep, activity and training, so it can plan around them. That means we handle health information, and this page sets out exactly what we collect, who processes it, and how to get rid of it.

We do not show ads, and we do not track you. We don't use the advertising identifier, we don't share your data with advertising networks or data brokers, and we don't combine it with data about you from other companies' apps or websites.

What we collect

This list mirrors the disclosures on our App Store product page.

• Contact info — your name and email address, as released to us by Sign in with Apple. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only ever see the relay address.
• Health — the wellness data you log or share: meals and their nutrition, body weight, body-fat and physique readings, sleep, heart rate and heart-rate variability, mood check-ins, meditation and focus sessions, and the urges you record and ride out.
• Fitness — workouts, steps, distance, active and resting energy, and exercise minutes.
• Photos — meal photos and progress photos, at the moment you submit one for analysis. See Photos below: we don't keep the image.
• Other content you write — meals you describe in text, notes you write in the Mind section, and session reflections.
• Identifiers — the opaque user identifier Apple issues for your account, and an analytics identifier for your app install.
• Purchases — your subscription and transaction history from Apple. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or bank details.
• Usage and performance data — which features and screens you use, and request timings and error codes from our own API.

We do not collect your phone number, postal address, contacts, browsing history, financial account details, or audio.

Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health is optional, and every screen in Jindful works without it. If you grant access, we read workouts, activity, heart rate and variability, sleep, mindfulness, body measurements and — once, to set up your profile — your date of birth and biological sex. We write back only what you originate in the app: the workouts, nutrition and moods you log, so they count toward your Activity rings.

Health data from Apple Health is used solely to provide and personalize your coaching. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, we do not mine it, and we do not sell it or share it with anyone other than the processors named below who operate the service on our behalf. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app, and you can disconnect it in Jindful under Health settings.

Photos

When you photograph a meal or add a progress photo, the image is sent to our server and on to our AI provider to be analyzed. We keep the result — the estimated nutrition, or a written read of your physique — and not the image. The photo itself stays in your phone's library; we do not store it, and it is not used to train anyone's models. Our AI provider may retain it briefly for abuse monitoring under their own terms.

Location

Jindful may ask for your approximate location so your coaching fits where you are — it shouldn't suggest a barbell session while you're at an airport. Your location never leaves your iPhone. Coordinates are turned into a single label on the device, and only that label (for example "gym" or "transit") is sent to us. We never receive, store or log your coordinates. Granting location access is optional.

How we use your data

• To run the app: your account, your logs, your history and your subscription.
• To personalize your coaching — targets, training blocks, daily plans and the readings you see are derived from what you log and share.
• To understand which features are used, so we know what to improve and fix.
• To keep the service secure and to prevent fraudulent or duplicate purchases.

We do not use your data for advertising, for marketing to you inside the app, or for any purpose unrelated to running Jindful.

AI processing

Jindful's coaching is generated by large language models run by third-party AI providers. When you ask for an analysis, the relevant content — a meal description or photo, a workout, a mood entry, your recent history — is sent to one of those providers to produce the response. They process it on our behalf under terms that prohibit using it to train their models, and we do not send them your name or email address.

AI output can be wrong. Jindful is not a medical device, and nothing it produces is medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

Who processes your data

We share data only with service providers that operate Jindful on our behalf, and only for that purpose. They are bound by terms that require them to protect your data and forbid using it for their own ends. By category, they are:

• AI providers — the large language models that produce your analysis and coaching. They receive the content you submit for a request, and are contractually prohibited from using it to train their models.
• Cloud hosting — running our API and storing your data.
• Product analytics — measuring which features are used.
• Web search — finding the sources behind the Mind feed.
• Apple — sign-in, and payments and subscriptions. Apple Health data stays on your device unless you share it with us.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks. If you want to know which specific companies we currently use, email us and we'll tell you.

Retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and its data from inside the app, under Profile → Delete Account, or by emailing gpsandhu23@gmail.com. Records we're required to keep for tax or fraud-prevention purposes — such as a record that a purchase occurred — may be retained after deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Email gpsandhu23@gmail.com and we'll action it. We don't discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

Children

Jindful is not intended for children. It sets calorie targets and training loads that are inappropriate for people who are still growing, and we don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll remove it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we'll update the effective date above and, where the change matters to you, tell you in the app.
